Running borad removal
I dont even know what to say. My truck looks so much better with out running boards. I think the wide boards take away from the tires and the line of the truck. I have always left them on because on getting in and out is easier. Screw that!. Plus I am luckly , I finaly gave up on the mini van thing and bought one for the family and in laws. I love mini-vans because now I get to modify the truck. Anyway , removal was easy with the space just being tight. I think it took less then an hour and I had them both off. I am glad I read on MUD to undo the front nuts that hold on to the plastic trim. Love it. Now I just need some LC mud flaps up front.Wednesday, March 15, 2006
more yakima / rack stuff
Well I went searching on ebay and criegs list and found a good number of A1 towers and other stuff. I also bought a thule cargo box for the roof a fontier for $95 so I can add protection for the high lift and other gear on the roof. I also bought 4 other A1 towers with locks for 58.00. Then I turned around today and bought a complete yakima rack; 6 locks ,4 A1 towners, 58inch cross bars and flaring all for $45. Need less to say that I have 4 extra A1 towers forsale plus locks. I am trying to figure out how to best mount the cargo box now. I will post pictures in a few.Water in truck..
Well I have been parking my truck out side and we had a big rain yesterday and now I have water in the passendger side near the second door. I have read on ih8mud on water and checking the slits for the rocker panel. I guess this was either A I didnt have a door shut all the way or I need to clean those slits out . I will check tonight.Service @ Urban Land Cruisers
Thanks, Urban for working with me on the front axle rebuild. I learned quite a bit and got my hands really dirty all at the same time. If you in the Atl area and have a land Cruiser of any year these guys can help you. www.urbanlandcruisers.comMike broke down one side and then walked me through removing the other axle parts. I thought it was not as hard if you have the right tools but very messy. I dont think I would thry this in my garage. yuck.
